A few weeks ago, I stood in the middle of my client closet surrounded by four new dresses that had just arrived for the client closet. I was holding one of them up to the light — soft cream cotton, a delicate floral pattern barely visible until the sun caught it just right — and I had this moment. The kind where you pause, take a deep breath, and realize something small but momentous is happening.
Because these aren’t just new dresses. They are part of something so much bigger.
When I dreamed up my Heirloom Sessions, I knew I wanted more than pretty photos. I didn’t want just posed smiles and “everyone look at the camera.” I wanted to tell stories — your story. The ordinary, holy kind. The kind lived out in bedtime routines and driveway chalk drawings and muddy boots by the door. The kind built in whispered prayers over breakfast and sticky toddler kisses and Sunday afternoon chaos.
But I also wanted to honor that everyday life with beauty. To frame it in light and softness and feminine detail — not to change it, but to see it fully. To romanticize it, not because it's unrealistic, but because it's worthy of being seen as precious.
And that’s where the dresses come in.
Three of the four new dresses in the client closet are intentionally designed to fit a range of sizes — from XS to XL — because every mama deserves to feel seen and beautiful just as she is. These pieces are more than wardrobe options; they’re a part of the storytelling. Flowing fabric that catches the breeze as you spin your daughter in the field. Gentle ruffles that move as you reach down to tuck your daughter's hair behind her ear. Soft florals that speak of femininity and strength in the same breath.
There’s one in particular that I keep picturing a mother wearing as she walks through a field, her little ones gathered around her, laughter in the air. It’s romantic but grounded. It’s floral without being frilly. And it’s real — just like you.
I think sometimes we hesitate to embrace beauty in the everyday because we think it’s frivolous. But what if it’s not?
